Waterproof flooring: taking the industry by storm

It doesn't matter where you live. Sometimes we spill something, overturn a glass of red wine or assemble the blender improperly and end up with a strawberry smoothie on the floor. Available in sensational, true-to-life echoes of wood, stone, and tile, in a wide assortment of colors and patterns and texture features, these floors are highly durable, affordable, and easy to care for with fast and easy installation. Here are three options.

Mohawk Revwood Select/Plus

This is an innovative wood-look product that offers ultimate moisture protection. Mohawk's Hydroseal technology repels moisture, and it is combined with Uniclic, a glueless locking system that traps water on the surface. The product comes in two versions: "Select," which withstands splashes and spills, and "Plus," which adds a beveling technology to add both realism and moisture protection. A Mohawk Revwood Plus floor can even be steam mopped, often not recommended.

Waterproof vinyl flooring

This is a newer version of luxury vinyl flooring (LVF), engineered to be thicker, more durable, and constructed with the WPC or SPC technologically advanced cores. These cores offer the highest moisture protection level and won't peel or ripple no matter how much water the floor is exposed to or for how long. Waterproof means the product is constructed of waterproof materials, in this case, vinyl and the cores; the floor can be spilled or submerged and, when wiped dry, will be fine. While the two cores have the same protection level, SPC is firmer and more rigid, with the feel of a hard surface; WPC is softer, warmer, and more resilient.

Waterproof laminate flooring

This material has been seen mainly as a wood-look product. Thanks to a unique construction that makes it spillproof, it has no limitations regarding where it can be installed. Special backings and an HDF (high-density fiberboard) core that's more stable keeps spills at the top where they can't absorb, stain or peel.
